A Secondary school in Swanage would bring with it the added benefits of fully equipped adult-sized classrooms and indoor sports facilities that are currently unavailable in Swanage.

The town has 26% of the population of Purbeck District, yet only 13% of visitors to the Purbeck Sports Centre come from Swanage. Dorset Adult Education held only 3 adult ed classes in Swanage in 2009, based at the library.

While additional facilities might be promised within any new primary school buildings in Swanage, anyone who has ever spent any length of time sitting on a primary school chair will know that primaries are designed for children, not adults.
