Admissions
The Swanage School welcomes applications for admission for children entering years 7, 8 and 9 in September 2013.
As a new school, The Swanage School admissions process remains open until the school is full - you can apply to us at any time, though applying sooner enables us to plan our staffing more efficiently. Places applied for after 1 March 2013 will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis.

The admission of children with statements of special educational needs will be the same as at mainstream schools in Dorset and is covered by the Education Act 1996. Further guidance on admissions is available in our admissions policy document, which is available for download here.
Appeals Process
If you have received written notification that your child has been refused a place at The Swanage School you can appeal to an appeal panel by writing to:

For appeals relating to offer letters sent out on or before 1 March 2013, the timetable for appeals is:
- Deadline for lodging appeals: 19 April 2013.
- Appellants will be sent notification of their appeal hearing at least 10 clear school days in advance of the hearing.
- Appellants will be sent a copy of the school's case seven clear working days in advance of the hearing.
- Appeals to be heard by 20 June (40 school days after the deadline for lodging appeals).
For admissions at other times of the year, appeal hearings will take place as soon as is practicable, within 30 school days of receiving the appeal form.
