A message from the Headteacher

The vision for The Swanage School is a simple one: to be an inclusive, student-centred, academically rigorous school where relationships are at the heart of the school and the school is at the heart of the community; a school in which every child is known and valued and where learning is fun; a school that prepares its students for the wider world, and that alumni will be proud of.

We are in the truly enviable position of being able to create a brand new school, with new inspirational teachers who share our vision and values – and to do this in a purpose-built, multi-million-pound building complete with extensive facilities where children, teachers, parents and members of the local community work and learn together.

This is indeed a dream opportunity for every student, parent, teacher and headteacher. Once you have read our prospectus and handouts, looked at our website and met us at an admissions event, I invite you to join us in making the vision for The Swanage School a reality.

No Great Crested Newts were found on the Swanage Middle School grounds, so the full building works can now get underway.

First Teaching Team Appointed

After 330 applications and 53 observations, last week we interviewed 16 candidates, all of whom had taught outstanding lessons. Last week we held three days of interviews, including a student panel, and we selected our teaching team – a fantastic group of talented individuals fully committed to making The Swanage School an amazing place to learn.
